At Mountain Tails, we’re more than just a pet store — we’re a trusted part of the community, dedicated to helping pets and their people thrive. Our mission is to offer high-quality, carefully curated products in a warm and welcoming environment where both pets and their humans feel right at home.

Proudly serving the community for over 20 years, Mountain Tails came under the ownership of Crested Butte residents Mike and Anne Scarpa in 2022. With a shared passion for animals and our community, Mike and Anne are committed to supporting pet parents with everything from everyday essentials to expert guidance. We’re thrilled to announce our upcoming expansions into CB South and Salida in Summer 2025 — and we can’t wait to connect with even more pet-loving families.

As proud pet parents to Luke and Harley, Mike and Anne know firsthand the joy pets bring into our lives. Their daughters, Alex and Danielle, also play an active role in the family business, lending their creativity to areas like product design and social media. At our core, Mountain Tails is a family-run boutique built on love, community, and a deep passion for animals.

By sharing knowledge and staying current with the evolving pet industry, we aim to support the health, happiness, and well-being of every animal we serve.

THE EXTRA MILE

If we don’t carry something that you are looking for, whether it be food, treats, toys, or bedding, we will happily place special orders for you and your furry friend. Special orders usually take 2-4 days to arrive, so just ask our shop staff if you need anything special that we do not carry.
